Rhinoceros I want to tell you about Rhinoceros. Rhinoceros is an endangered species in ~he world that want to protect. In Indonesia we can find the rhinoceros just in Ujung Kulon National Park. There are about 60 in there. It is an endangered animals because some people hunted it to get the part of this animal that is its horn and it makes most of them were killed and becoming extinct. So, for overcoming the problem, the government taken it to the national park and it is very protected. The humans took the Rhino’s horn for the medicine. Some cultures believe that the powdered rhino horn will cure everything from fever to food poisoning and will enhance sexual stamina. For them this horn not only used in battles for territory or females but also to defend themselves from lions, tigers and hyenas. After the battle happened, sometimes Rhinos get the serious injuries. There are five species of Rhinoceros. Those are two Africa Rhinos and three Asian Rhinos. Africa species have white and black Rhinoceros’ and both of them have two horns. White Rhinoceros is the second largest land mammal after the elephant. Beside that, Asian Rhinoceros in Indian and Java, each of them have one horn but for the Sumatran Rhinos have two horns. Rhinos are herbivore it means that they eat only plants. White rhinos, with their square-shaped lips, are ideally suited to graze on grass. Other rhinos prefer to eat the foliage of trees or bushes. That is about the Rhinoceros as an endangered species.
